Fathom starts his long distance swim to Tennessee

Whew, I'm finished! I couldn't decide whether or not to paint/color his lips, but in the end, I decided not to. Here's the Flicker set of all the photos a snapped if you're interested. And here's just a few if you're not:

  2. Hi Janis!

Since I seem to be part magpie, I swiped them from a stall at the Alameda Flea Market (your old hood) a few months back. They're mechanical doll eyes and were sold as parts off an old vintage toy doll. When the doll was held/laid horizontal, the weights that were attached to the eyes, inside the doll's head would pivot and the eyes would shut, simulating sleep. Cool eh? I decided they looked best OUTSIDE the doll for that mechanical/road warrior look and I used wire to attach them to the head. I'm sure eBay will have them. I never noticed them before, but have seen quite a few around lately. The last Addison Papers open studio sale had a few sets as well. They look pretty cool all piled up in a jar! :)
